I don't think so. If it is Three Cliffs one of the silhouettes could be the other Amy. And I didn't try and cheat by looking through my own photos to see if I had a similar shot... well I didn't succeed anyway.

Pool social in Uplands

I just wanted to thank Elle for suggesting and Amy for organising the Pool social last night in Uplands. It went really well with 16 members turning out. I think that one may be come a regular fixture on the calendar.. maybe even bigger and better next time...?

Well obviously anywhere on the Gower is possible for day trips, have done clyne in the past. Sugarloaf would also be easily done as abergavenny is about 2hrs on the train and the walk is fairly short. Also how about somewhere like Kilvey?

As for weekends at a push you could do Shropshire on the train for a weekend if you gave it alot of planning and thought. Last year we did the Devon coast path using trains and buses but were helped out by Roo who knows the area well. Theres also the heart of wales line from which you could probably work out a number of walks.

Hi everyone,

I am looking to put together a list of walks (past and present) that either have been or could be done by public transport from Swansea. They don't have to be possible on a Sunday.., although ideally so. These will form a back-up for times like this past weekend where we were unable to get a minibus and it was too short notice to fill a coach.
If you have any suggestions/vague recollections I would be grateful to have them. It saves me the task of trying out each one separately. Many thanks, Martin

Am keeping up to date with everything through an 'old' commitee member!! The man with the rocket...

Congratulations to the new members! As an ex secretary- make sure you list everything in the minutes as its quite hilarious to read back on everyones misdaventures etc!

Hope to see you all soon...and the new committee members who I have yet to meet (I feel old). Hopefully maybe at the Rhinogs weekends as its the one weekend I never made it too!! And I can get a bus there!

Hey guys, i'd just like to reccomend the Shropshire trip to everyone out there who hasnt been on a weekend away with the hiking club before as it it beautiful and so much fun and even I can keep up the pace! It's also amazing value for money! I can GUARANTEE you will NOT find a walking weekend away for cheaper and have so much fun with your fellow hikers! Woop Woop!
It will also be my birthday on the 9th so its all fun and games!

We've still got three spaces after the first Wednesday sign up, a bit of a surprise! We only have 12 spaces at the hostel, so it will be dependent upon them having more space cos there is another group there... Distances of the Pyg & Miner's paths

The combined distance of the Pyg (or Pen y Gwryd) and Miners tracks is 7.5 miles long, with 685m height distance between Pen-y-Pass and the summit of Y Wyddfa (Snowdon).
